WAVE will be January 7-9, 2022
at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center
Our theme is Find Your Piece, based on 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV): Cast all your anxiety on God because God cares for you.
With the affiliation of the Baltimore-Washington Conference and the Peninsula-Delaware Conference, an opportunity arose to take the two youth events that were similar in purpose and combine them for a pilot year. Read More
Registration is now LIVE! Click button to register.
New for BWC, usual for PDC: When you register, your group will be assigned a color that will match a zone in the Main Hall. Each session the colors will rotate so that every group gets a chance to sit in the front, middle and back of the hall. We have extra screens to make sure there isn’t a bad seat in the house!
A health form should be downloaded and must be completed for each youth that is attending. Please turn in a copy when you arrive at WAVE and keep a copy with your group.
New for Pen-Del, but usual for BWC: You will pre-register for breakouts!! This will avoid running to a breakout and finding it full! Times are different for BWC – the breakouts will be at 9:00AM and 2:00PM on Saturday, Jan 8. Please do not register anyone for more than one breakout per time slot. We are excited at the variety of breakouts we are planning!
"Proclaim the Name" Contest
Proclaim the Name is a youth preaching challenge in search of high school students with passion for sharing God’s word.
Interested students will prepare a 5-minute, Biblically-based message and video yourself preaching that message. Submit the video online by December 1. The submissions will be judged and the final 16 submissions will be notified. Those finalists will again be judged at WAVE 2022 with the winner sharing the stage on Sunday morning and receiving a $500 grant for their youth ministry.
If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
New for BWC, usual for PDC: A free t-shirt is included in each registration (one per person registered) for registrations completed by December 1. You will need to supply t-shirt sizes for each person you are registering. Shirts will be picked up at WAVE. There will be a limited supply of additional shirts available for purchase – while supplies last!
New for PDC! There will be LOTS of WAVE-branded merch available to purchase! This will be in the WAVE Shop (for PDC, this was called the Exhibit/Vendor Hall). So when you arrive at WAVE, please send one person to registration and the others to the WAVE Shop.
When is it expected that registration might open?
As previously stated, we are working final details so we can open up registration as soon as possible. Stay tuned – we will blast that information out once it’s ready!
Where does the name The Wave come from? Why is it symbolic, what does it represent?
Wave (Just Wave, not The Wave) was suggested by one of the youth. There are many connotations with it – a WAVE washes ashore, refreshing with new and removing the old. Waves are seemingly endless, etc. After a good discussion on suggested names, the unanimous decision from everyone was WAVE. It just seemed like natural fit with our event especially because it’s in Ocean City.
What can you share now that the youth and their leaders will want/need to know?
The “why” for each of the respective events has always been the same and so will remain as we plan this event. The event’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for youth and adults to develop or deepen their relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The events have always been similar in style and program, but different in some details. We are excited to bring together both groups and bring the best from both into one. This first year will be an opportunity to feel our way around the planning. We are looking forward to planning future events together using feedback and experience from this first collaboration between the Baltimore-Washington & Peninsula-Delaware Conferences.
